Has your computer already crashed? Are you still able to at least get an error message? An error
message or blue screen of death (BSOD) is a good thing when it comes to recovery. It means your
operating system is corrupted, but most of your personal documents should still be intact. Make
sure you recover these files before attempting to re-install your operating system!
Depending on the condition of your hard drive, I can usually recover 100% of files if your drive is
not physically dead. A physically dead drive either won't power on, won't spin, or won't send and
receive data. I cannot recover data from a physically dead drive. Recovery on a dead drive requires
a specialized technician in a "clean room", and can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
If your problem is a crashed operating system (as it usually is), the $75+ charge reflects
$25 for recovering the data from an unbootable drive, and $50+ for the
Data Backup service. I will take 50% off the price of a new
Windows Installation if you bundle the services.
